Who Are We
On April 10, 2018, MOFAB Inc. kicked off a anti bullying campaign
and adopted rebuilding our faith with a focus on Nehemiah 4
to overcome threats in partnerships with local schools.
MOFAB will cultivate both tolerant messages of their religious beliefs as well as create comforting safe havens for children and their families. We will use our skills, positions, and resources to show prevention strategies through modeling behavior and faith-based messages. MOFAB strive to model tolerance, respect, and loving support for others, seek ways of peace, and defend those in need. Faith leaders can relate these stories directly to the roles of children and youth involved in bullying.
Remember the Lord, great and awesome
Nehemiah 4:14
Our Story
In order to realize the goal of raising community awareness of bullying, Rev. Stephen Bailey, along with a number of men from Faith AME Church's Men's Fellowship, agreed to colloborate with a local school in the community.
Rev. Bailey made the decision not to let legal issues that could have exposed the church to liability deter him from pursuing the vision. Due to the fact that the youth required assistance and were deserving of sacrifice, he was not pressured by the spirit of discouragement. An off-site event was suggested by a representative of the Prince George's County school board as an excellent option because it was not taking place on school grounds. In March 2019, with the help of his family, friends and his own resources, MOFAB sponsored an Anti Bullying Prayer Breakfast for members, students, parents and the community. The event was a great success and was adopted by MOFAB to be an annual event during the month of October which is National Anti
Bullying Month.
Reverend Bailey was advised by a financial advisor that if he intended to continue to support the youth in the future he should start a nonprofit to help offset the total use of his personal resources. From this vision Men of Faith against Bullying (MOFAB) Inc. was founded. Rev. Bailey immediately reached out to his cousin, Dr. James Peterson, EdD Research Professor, Ms. Shelia Johnson CEO/Owner Strategic Economics Solutions, LLC and Ms. Yevola Peters trainer/Developer/Consultant certified Instructor for Dr Thomas Gordon Effectiveness Training for Personal and Professional Development as advisors to start shaping of MOFAB. His Aunt Patricia Richards, retired owner and operator of Domino Learning and Daycare Center was MOFAB's first board member. The MOFAB model believes that EVERYONE HAS A PART IN BULLYING PREVENTION AND AWARENESS. It’s not just up to the schools and teachers.
It’s up to the entire community to play a role. It’s up to the entire community to play a role. MOFAB will support the healthy development of children and youth through their shared values of acceptance, tolerance, and mutual respect. Faith communities can also greatly influence how children and youth deal with bullying and other forms of aggression they experience and/or witness. MOFAB will cultivate both tolerant messages of their religious beliefs as well as create comforting safe havens for children and their families. We will use our skills, positions, and resources to show prevention strategies through modeling behavior and faith-based messages. MOFAB strives to model tolerance, respect, and loving support for others, seek ways of peace, and defend those in need. Faith leaders can relate these stories directly to the roles of children and youth involved in bullying.
In addition to speaking to students, Rev Bailey has teamed up with:
• MOFAB was approved in 2019 to participate in the Prince George's County Public School's Partners in Education (P.I.E.) program.
• Led the discussion and study series with the Men of Faith: Overcoming “Threats from the Nehemiah Series.”
• Participated in the 2018 Anti-Defamation League (ADL) Washington, DC region's No Place for Hate (NPH) luncheon, where students came together to honor their schools. In October 2018, MOFAB represented at the Be Strong Global Event (Let's Unite to Stop Bullying) live simulcast from Carnegie Hall.
• StopBullying.gov-Understanding the Roles of Faith Leaders in Community-Wide Bullying Prevention Efforts.
• Adopted the United States Attorney's Office's Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) strategy as a research and training model to provide outreach services.

Stop Bullying
Bullying can be prevented, especially when the power of a community is brought together. Community-wide strategies can help identify and support children who are bullied, redirect the behavior of children who bully, and change the attitudes of adults and youth who tolerate bullying behaviors in peer groups, schools, and communities.
